Thane: Two cases registered against Roshni Shinde of Thackeray group for offensive social media posts
Thane, 4th April 2023: Thane has seen a surge of political tensions after two cases were registered against Roshni Shinde of the Thackeray group for allegedly posting offensive content about Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and BJP office-bearers on social media.
One of the cases was filed by Dattaram Gavas of the Shinde group, which led to a case being registered in Naupada police station. The second case was filed by former BJP corporator Sanjay Vaghule, which led to a case being registered in Kasarwadvali.
Roshni Shinde, an office-bearer of Thackeray group’s Youth Sena, has claimed that she was physically assaulted by women activists of the Shinde group while she was at work on Monday night. She was later admitted to a private hospital for treatment. The Thackeray group has accused Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the police administration of being involved in the attack. They even staged a sit-in outside the police station. The political atmosphere in Thane has been stirred up after Uddhav Thackeray, the head of the Thackeray group, held a press conference on Tuesday and made allegations.
Initially, no FIR was registered in this case on Tuesday night. However, on Tuesday afternoon, Shinde group official Dattaram Gavas lodged a complaint against Roshni at Kasarwadvali police station, stating that Roshni had posted offensive content on social media about Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Based on this complaint, Kasarawadli police registered a case against Roshni. Additionally, former BJP municipal councilor Sanjay Vaghule filed a complaint against Roshni in Naupada police station, claiming that she made objectionable statements against BJP office bearers. This led to another case being registered in Naupada police station.
This series of events has led to an increase in political tensions in Thane. With cases registered against Roshni Shinde, the situation is likely to escalate further. The Thackeray group’s allegations against Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the police administration have added fuel to the fire. It remains to be seen how the situation will unfold and whether any further action will be taken.
