Tanisha Bhise’s Death Called a Murder by MP Supriya Sule; Urges Strong Action
Pune,7 April 2025: The tragic death of a pregnant woman, Tanisha Bhise, has caused public outcry. She passed away after reportedly being denied urgent treatment at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital because she couldn’t immediately pay a ₹10 deposit. The delay allegedly led to her death, and now political leaders are demanding accountability.
Baramati MP Supriya Sule has called this incident a “murder” and insists that action must be taken against the hospital. She stressed that this should not become a political issue but must be treated with humanity. She asked, “If even after the Chief Minister’s office intervenes, help doesn’t reach people, how will the common person get justice?”
She emphasized that the hospital was negligent, as confirmed in a recent report. She questioned whether the government plans to wait for multiple committee reports before taking action.
Sule also highlighted that Tanisha’s two young daughters are currently in the ICU, and the government needs to show compassion. She visited the grieving family and described Tanisha as someone who was wronged by the system. “We can’t bring her back, but we must ensure no other woman faces such a fate,” she said.
Finally, Sule urged the state to issue clear guidelines for hospitals to avoid such tragedies.
“The incident is disturbing and goes against the values of Maharashtra’s great social reformers. As per the law, immediate legal action against the responsible doctors and staff should be taken, all in the name of basic human decency,” she added.
