Rahul Gandhi Reacts To Digvijay Singh’s Statement On Surgical Strike
Jammu and Kashmir, 24th January 2023: Congress veteran Digvijay Singh’s statement on the surgical strike has created a stir in the political corridor. The Congress has distanced itself from Digvijay Singh’s statement.
Bharat Jodo Yatra is currently in Jammu and Kashmir, in its last phase. In Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi termed Digvijay Singh’s statement as his statement and not the party’s.
Rahul Gandhi held a press conference in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. During this, he commented on Digvijay Singh’s surgical strike statement.
He said, “I do not agree at all with what Digvijay Singh ji has said. We have full faith in our army. If the army does something then there is no need to give proof. This is the personal opinion of Digvijay Singh ji. Not the opinion of Congress.”
During this, Rahul Gandhi clearly said that it is not right to ask for proof of a surgical strike. He said, “There can be no question about the bravery of the army. Whatever the army does, it is a matter of bravery. If the army does something, there is no need to give proof.”
He further said, “The party’s views arise from a conversation. Digvijaya Singh’s views are external views. They are not the party’s views. We are very clear that the armed forces do a tough job, and they do their job exceptionally well.”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also commented on Digvijay Singh’s statement seeking proof of a surgical strike. Speaking to the reporters, he clearly said, “We have already made it clear that the party stands with the army. We have always been working for the country and will continue to do so. We respect our army very much.”
Responding to a question regarding the banning of the BBC documentary, Rahul Gandhi said, “The truth comes out; the truth cannot be suppressed; the truth always shines through.”
Rahul Gandhi said that BJP spent thousands of crores of rupees to tarnish his image. He said that there is nothing more than money in BJP’s thinking, BJP only thinks about money and power but the truth comes out in every situation. Truth cannot be suppressed by money.
In response to a question regarding the removal of Article 370, Rahul Gandhi said that it has been clarified in the resolution of the Congress Working Committee. “We want to give back statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.”
