Rahul Gandhi Hits Back at Modi: Alleges PM’s Personal Experience with Adani, Ambani
New Delhi, 9th May 2024: On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi of the Congress took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent remarks about businessmen Adani and Ambani, suggesting that Modi’s comments hinted at personal experience.
During an election rally in Telangana’s Karimpur, PM Modi criticized Rahul Gandhi’s past attacks on industrialists like Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, questioning why these criticisms suddenly ceased once election season began. Modi insinuated that there might be an undisclosed agreement between the Congress and these industrialists, prompting Rahul Gandhi to respond.
In a video message, Rahul Gandhi retorted to Modi’s allegations, implying that Modi might have firsthand knowledge about money being transported in tempo trucks by Adani and Ambani. He challenged Modi to investigate the matter thoroughly without fear.
Rahul Gandhi further asserted that any money allegedly given to Adani and Ambani by Modi would be redistributed to the people of India through Congress’ proposed schemes if they win the Lok Sabha elections.
The Congress has consistently accused Modi of favoring a select group of industrialists, including Adani and Ambani, with special privileges.
Meanwhile, AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh criticized Modi for his remarks, suggesting that Modi’s attacks on his own allies reflect his anxiety over not securing a clear majority in the upcoming elections.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also joined the criticism, implying that Modi’s tempo of corruption is losing momentum as evidenced by the slowing down of his support even in the early phases of the elections. She called on Modi to address these concerns raised by the public.
