Pune: Sharad Pawar Counters Allegations, Criticizes Ajit Pawar’s Intimidation Tactics in Baramati Meeting
Baramati, 8th April 2024: Amidst discussions of alleged intimidation tactics employed by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar during the Lok Sabha elections, Sharad Pawar himself addressed a meeting in Supe, where he conveyed a stern message. Reading out a note, he emphasized, “If you don’t vote for the clock, you won’t get water, the factory won’t get sugarcane.” Asserting against yielding to such intimidation, he admonished the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP, stating firmly, “No matter how many threats you give, I do not heed them.”
During his visit to some areas of Baramati today, Sharad Pawar also discussed the Janai-Shirsai Water Schemes. He noted a resurgence of trust in the taluka following the implementation of this irrigation scheme post the NCP split. Expressing disappointment with the execution of the Janai-Shirsai scheme by the designated authorities, he acknowledged his previous lapse in attention to local matters over the past two decades. However, he pledged to now prioritize and fulfil his responsibility towards addressing local issues.
Sharad Pawar, deeply connected to the lands of Baramati, declared it his duty to resolve the challenges faced by the people. This commitment reflects his renewed focus on local concerns and his determination to serve his constituents effectively.
Senior leader Sharad Pawar has been subjected to criticism by his opponents based on his age, but he has vehemently responded to such remarks. Dismissing concerns about his age, Pawar retorted, “Many people mention my age, saying I have reached 84, 85. But don’t just focus on my age, what else have you observed? I am not one to slow down. Those who have supported me will not be abandoned.” He affirmed his unwavering commitment to serving the public interest until his last breath.
Pawar’s contributions extend beyond party lines, as evidenced by his significant assistance to Gujarat during his tenure as the Agriculture Minister, even under the leadership of Narendra Modi. Emphasizing his dedication to the welfare of farmers, Pawar stated, “Regardless of the party anyone belongs to, I consider the Chief Minister of a state before being a member of any political party, and my primary aim is to ensure the happiness and prosperity of its farmers.”
