Pune: Big Blow To Uddhav Thackeray, Supreme Court Refuses To Stay Election Commission Proceedings
Pune, 27th September 2022: During the power struggle in Maharashtra, the Supreme Court has given a big relief to the Shinde group and shocked Thackeray. After a day-long hearing today (September 27), the Supreme Court refused to suspend the proceedings before the Election Commission. This has paved the way for the Election Commission to take a decision regarding the party symbol.
Due to this, till now the ongoing battle between the Shinde group and Thackeray in the Supreme Court to get the party symbol of Shiv Sena has reached the Election Commission.
The Shinde group claims that they are the real Shiv Sena and on behalf of Thackeray, a demand was made to prevent the Election Commission from taking a decision in this regard. But, the Supreme Court rejected this plea of Shiv Sena.
The hearing was held before Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud, Justice M R Shah, Justice Krishna Murari, Justice Hima Kohli and Justice P S Narasimha’s five-member constitution bench.
This day became historic as the hearing was telecasted live in front of the Constitution Bench from today.
