Political Turmoil in Maharashtra as Ajit Pawar Group Meets NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar for Second Time
Mumbai, 17th July 2023: As the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly session commences today, significant developments are unfolding in the state’s political landscape. In a surprising turn of events, all MLAs and ministers affiliated with the Ajit Pawar group are set to meet Sharad Pawar once again after their unexpected meeting yesterday. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Yashwantrao Chavan Center in Mumbai, sparking discussions and speculations within the political sphere.
NCP leader Ajit Pawar’s decision to rebel and join the government has caused a rift within the party, leading to a standoff between Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar. Yesterday, Ajit Pawar and the ministers and MLAs who were sworn in alongside him made an abrupt visit to Sharad Pawar’s gathering.
Praful Patel, a prominent NCP leader, expressed reverence for Sharad Pawar, referring to him as their guiding force. Patel also extended apologies for the recent events that unfolded in the past few days.
“We bowed down at Sharad Pawar’s feet, seeking his blessings and guidance. We have immense respect for him and urged him to carefully consider and guide us on how to keep the NCP united,” stated Praful Patel.
Yesterday, Ajit Pawar and his supporting MLAs met with Sharad Pawar, proposing that the party remain united. However, senior leaders Praful Patel and Jayant Patil confirmed that Sharad Pawar had not yet provided any response. Consequently, today, these rebel MLAs and leaders have once again approached Sharad Pawar, leaving observers curious about the role he will assume in this unfolding political scenario.
