PM Modi Inaugurates World Trade Centre in Delhi, Criticises AAP and Kejriwal During Speech
New Delhi, 3rd January 2025: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched several urban development initiatives in Delhi. These included the inauguration of a World Trade Centre in Nauroji Nagar, residential quarters in Sarojini Nagar, and a CBSE office complex in Dwarka. He also initiated the construction of a new college in Najafgarh.
The Prime Minister visited newly built apartments for slum dwellers in Ashok Vihar, personally handing over keys to some beneficiaries. He engaged with economically disadvantaged families in the area as well.
In his address at Ashok Vihar’s Ramlila Ground, Modi emphasized India’s growing global stature, predicting 2025 would further solidify the country’s international position, particularly in manufacturing. He shared personal memories of the area from his days in the anti-emergency movement.
Modi highlighted his government’s efforts in housing for the poor, contrasting it with his lack of personal property. He criticized the Delhi government’s education policies, accusing them of underutilizing central funds.
The Prime Minister strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader, Arvind Kejriwal, likening their governance to a disaster for Delhi. He accused them of neglecting issues like the Yamuna River’s pollution and alleged corruption.
Modi outlined the day’s events as crucial for Delhi’s development, emphasizing improvements in housing, infrastructure, and education. He announced the inauguration of over 1,600 flats for slum rehabilitation and the foundation-laying of educational facilities worth more than Rs. 600 crore.
This event occurred amidst a controversy where the Congress-affiliated NSUI had requested Modi to name the new college after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh instead of Veer Savarkar.
