
Northern Railway to Begin Regular Vande Bharat Services Between Srinagar and Katra from June 7
New Delhi, 05th June 2025: Northern Railway has announced the launch of regular Vande Bharat Express services between Srinagar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, starting June 7, 2025. The new services will operate six days a week, aiming to strengthen connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the prominent pilgrimage destination.
Two pairs of Vande Bharat Express trains—Train Nos. 26404/26403 and 26401/26402—will run on the Srinagar–Katra–Srinagar route with a scheduled halt at Banihal.
Train Nos. 26404/26403 (Srinagar – Katra – Srinagar)
Commencement Date: June 7, 2025
Frequency: Six days a week (No service on Wednesdays)

Train No. 26404: Departs Srinagar at 08:00 hrs, halts at Banihal at 09:02 hrs, arrives at Katra at 10:58 hrs
Train No. 26403: Departs Katra at 14:55 hrs, halts at Banihal at 16:40 hrs, arrives at Srinagar at 17:53 hrs
Train Nos. 26401/26402 (Katra – Srinagar – Katra)
Commencement Date: June 7, 2025
Frequency: Six days a week (No service on Tuesdays)
Timings:
Train No. 26401: Departs Katra at 08:10 hrs, halts at Banihal at 09:58 hrs, arrives at Srinagar at 11:08 hrs
Train No. 26402: Departs Srinagar at 14:00 hrs, halts at Banihal at 15:10 hrs, arrives at Katra at 16:58 hrs
Northern Railway confirmed that the Vande Bharat services on this route are aimed at improving passenger convenience and reducing travel time between Srinagar and Katra.
