‘Next Rabri Devi Emerging’ – BJP’s Response to Kejriwal’s Arrest
New Delhi, April 1st, 2024: Following Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in a liquor scam case, his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, accused the BJP-led central government of attempting to keep him in jail for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. She asserted that the people of the country won’t tolerate such a dictatorship and will respond. In response, BJP leaders retaliated, with Union Minister Hardip Singh Puri comparing Sunita to Rabri Devi, suggesting she may take a more prominent role. Meanwhile, BJP’s Sudhanshu Trivedi hinted at Lalu Prasad Yadav’s influence on Kejriwal.
Sunita Kejriwal accused the BJP-led central government of aiming to keep her husband, Arvind Kejriwal, in jail during the Lok Sabha elections. She questioned the reasons behind his arrest and asserted that the people of the country would react strongly to such tactics.
Hardip Singh Puri, a BJP leader and Union Minister, made a sarcastic comparison between Sunita Kejriwal and Rabri Devi, suggesting a potential increase in her political role. He stated that just as Rabri Devi took over when Bihar’s CM faced jail time, a similar scenario might unfold in Delhi with Sunita Kejriwal.
Another BJP leader, Sudhanshu Trivedi, hinted at Lalu Prasad Yadav’s influence on Arvind Kejriwal, likening him to a mentor. Trivedi emphasized that the court’s decision, based on solid evidence, targets those pretending to be victims in the situation.
