NCW Sends Notice To Congress Leader Ajay Rai For Comments On Smriti Irani
Uttar Pradesh, 20th December 2022: The statement of Uttar Pradesh Congress leader Ajay Rai can create problems for him. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognizance of the indecent remarks made by Congress leader Ajay Rai against Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani. The commission has fixed a hearing and sent a notice to Ajay Rai to appear on 28th December at noon.
Meanwhile, Ajay Rai is still firm in his statement after the comment made on Smriti Irani. Ajay Rai questioned, “Why should I apologise?”
Congress leader Ajay Rai said, “I did not intend to insult anyone. This is our colloquial language…this is not unparliamentary language. So why should I apologise?”
Ajay Rai had said on Monday, “Smriti Irani comes to Amethi only to show ‘latke-jhatke’.” Rai was talking to reporters at the Royal Palace in Robertsganj on Monday. Ajay Rai had said, “Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari is getting support from every section. It has become clear from this that Rahul Gandhi will be the next Prime Minister of the country.”
Ajay Rai further said, “I also challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi that I will defeat him in the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi this time. When Modi was not the PM, I got 76,000 votes against him. When he contested elections while being the PM, I got 1.54 lakh votes. This time they will have to face defeat.”
