Manoj Jarange Patil Issues Ultimatum: “Fielding Candidates in Maharashtra if Maratha Reservation Decision Delayed”

Jalna, 1st July 2024: Following the issues of reservation for Marathas and Other Backward Classes (OBC), disputes have arisen between the two communities. Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil has issued a warning that if a decision regarding the ‘Sagesoyare’ ordinance for Maratha reservation is not taken by 13th July, candidates will be fielded in all 288 legislative constituency seats in Maharashtra.

Manoj Jarange Patil said, “Everyone knows who is practising casteism. The individual from Yeola has gathered all the goods. In the 18th century, we had reservations in Marathwada. We received reservations after independence. Why doesn’t the OBC understand this? We received the reservation before you. You are saying forget our 57 lakh records. Then who is practicing casteism?”

Manoj Jarange Patil continued, “When we protest, you place OBC protesters in front of us. When we organize silent marches, you organize counter-marches. We also want our development. Our children also have dreams. Casteism is causing the formation of gangs from your side. This is not a threat but our right. Change yourselves. When we unite against you, you call it casteism; when you unite, you call it constitutional rights. Stop these double standards.”

Jarange Targets Bhujbal

Targeting OBC leader and Yeola MLA Chhagan Bhujbal, Jarange Patil said, “The OBC protest is being led by an individual from Yeola. He has amassed all the assets. Our mothers and sisters were attacked. We were unable to move after witnessing the condition of our children. Your stomach aches when we unite. While our protest was ongoing, why did you hold a meeting at Ambad? Who is practising casteism now? Tell the individual from Yeola to behave and not to mess with us.”

“Grant Reservation or Face Defeat”

Jarange Patil warned, “If we Marathas decide, anything can happen in the state during elections. Marathas constitute more than 55% of the population in the state. Do not provoke our caste. Do not talk about showing the spine. Showing spine runs in the blood of Marathas. OBC brothers should maintain peace. Your leaders are deceiving you. Marathas received a reservation before you. Decide before 13th July, or not a single candidate will be elected. I never betray, I never lie. If you do not grant a reservation, I will disclose whether a candidate will win or lose. I will name names and ensure that candidate loses.”

“Must Honor Vinayak Mete’s Dream of Maratha Reservation”

Jarange concluded by saying, “Vinayak Mete dreamed that Marathas should receive a reservation. Mete struggled tirelessly for the Maratha reservation, and the Maratha community will never forget him. It is our responsibility to fulfil his dream. No one should retreat. This fight is entirely to uplift the Maratha community. Today is Mete’s birth anniversary, and I will not lie. I have never practised casteism, and I never will.”
