Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Criticizes Uddhav Thackeray for Attacking Devendra Fadnavis

Pune, 6th August 2024: On Monday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, suggesting that those who are attacking Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis are showing signs of instability. In response to Thackeray’s remarks comparing Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Afghan king Ahmed Shah Abdali, Shinde stated that such comments are inconsistent with “Maharashtra’s culture.”

During a press briefing following his review of the flood situation in Pune, Shinde remarked, “The derogatory remarks against Devendra Fadnavis indicate a loss of composure and a sense of disorientation. They are grappling with the reality of their impending defeat.”

He further mentioned that Thackeray’s unease stems from the success of initiatives like the Ladki Bahin scheme and the youth apprenticeship program, asserting, “Maharashtra is committed to progress and development, which is causing discomfort among some.”
