Maharashtra: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Clarifies Shiv Sena Will Not Claim Party Assets
Pune, 20th February 2023: While discussions are going on that the Shiv Sena Bhavan will be claimed by the Shinde group after getting the Shiv Sena name and symbol, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde clarified on Monday that he will not claim the Shiv Sena Bhavan.
“No claim will be made on any property and assets of Shiv Sena. No temptation for possessions and wealth”, Shinde said that “we are carrying forward the thoughts of Balasaheb Thackeray.”
Shinde interacted with various social groups in the background of the Kasba Assembly by-election. After that he interacted with the journalists.
“Election Commission has decided to give name and symbol to Shiv Sena. This decision has been made on merit. So it is wrong to object to it. The Judiciary has certain powers. In a democracy these institutions are autonomous. The decision of the commission has been welcomed by the public. But it is wrong to say that if the decision is favorable it is good and if it is unfavorable it is wrong. Having received the name and symbol, the office of the Legislature was taken over. But we do not claim any property or wealth”, he added.
Shinde further said, “The Brahmin community is not upset. This rumor is being spread deliberately by the opponents. Voters decide who to elect and who not to. Therefore, even if Ajit Pawar makes some statements, there is no truth in them. Governments are taking decisions in the interest of the people. So people are with the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. He said that the alliance candidate will win in Kasba Peth constituency.”
