Everyone Across Parties Should Fight for Pune-Nashik High-Speed Railway: MLC Satyajeet Tambe
February 27, 2024: MLC Satyajeet Tambe has reached out to public representatives across parties and urged them to join hands in fight for the original route of Pune-Nashik High-Speed Railway. Tambe wrote letters to all the representatives of all the Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha constituencies and said maximum people should join in order to get maximum benefits from the project.
In the letter to representatives, Tambe said it is important from the state’s perspective that the project happens as planned instead of new route from Shirdi taluka. “The people of Sinnar, Sangamner, Junnar, Narayanarao, Manchar, Chakan will suffer a lot. A large number of people go to the cities of Pune and Nashik from this area for education, employment or industrial pursuits. Four industrial estates namely Chakan, Bhosari, Musalgaon and Sinnar in the districts of Pune and Nashik are also on this route. Such big projects happen only once in several years. Therefore, it is necessary for all of us to make an effort” he stated.
Tambe wrote to Co-operation Minister Dilip Valse-Patil, MP Hemant Godse, MP Sadashiv Lokhande, MP Amol Kolhe, MLA Balasaheb Thorat, MLA Atul Benke, MLA Dilip Mohite-Patil, MLA Manikrao Kokate etc. Tambe also said that they should take up the issue of Nashik-Pune semi-high speed railway at their respective levels and provide the benefits of the project to lakhs of people.
“We should use our political weight now to clear the way for the original Nashik-Pune railway route. If we all rise, unite and fight against it, lakhs of people in this stretch can benefit from the project,” Tambe said.
Since the Ahmednagar-Pune railway line is via Daund, it takes twice as much time to cover the distance by train than by road. As a result, this Ahmednagar-Pune railway does not seem to benefit the citizens of Ahmednagar or Pune district, Tambe stated. “Therefore, Ahmednagar to Pune railway should be a direct route. It has been an old demand of the citizens. Similarly, citizens fear that the route of Nashik-Pune railway will remain on paper but people of Sinnar, Sangamner, Junnar, Ambegaon, Chakan, Manchar will not get any benefit from the project,” he said.
