Economic Survey 2023 Presented In Parliament, Show Upward Trajectory
New Delhi, 31st January 2023: According to the Economic Survey 2022-23 for the financial year 2022-23, the economic speed of the country will get big support from schemes like PM Gati Shakti, National Logistics Policy and Production -Linked Incentive Schemes.
The Economic Survey 2022-23 was presented in Parliament on Tuesday by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The blueprint for the country’s development has been described in this economic survey.
According to the survey, there has been a significant increase in the number of roads, railways, waterways, and others in the country in the last eight years. Along with this, many airports and ports have also been upgraded. Along with this, it was told that at present, the country’s logistics cost is 14-18 per cent of GDP, while the global benchmark is eight per cent.
PM Gati Shakti was announced in 2021. Its objective is to reduce the logistics cost in the country. Along with this, the ongoing infrastructure projects have to be completed on time. Projects related to the seven engines (roads, railways, airports, ports, transport, waterways and logistic infrastructure) in the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) will be aligned with the PM Gati Shakti framework.
The National Logistics Policy was launched in September 2022 under PM Gati Shakti. The survey said that due to this policy of the government, infrastructure projects will accelerate, and the central, state and local governments will work together.
In the last few years, the traditional infrastructure of road and railways have got a new boost. Along with this, it was told in the survey that there is a lot of potential in areas like inland water transport and civil aviation, which are being encouraged by the government.
