Congress MP Rajni Patil Suspended From Rajya Sabha Proceedings For Budget Session
New Delhi, 10th February 2023: Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar suspended Congress MP Rajni Patil for the rest of the budget session for filming the proceedings of the House. Dhankhar said, “A video related to the proceedings of this House was circulated on Twitter in the public domain today. I took it seriously and did whatever was necessary. As a matter of principle and to maintain the sanctity of Parliament, the involvement of any outside agency cannot be sought.”
The Rajya Sabha Chairman said, “Since the matter was related to the proceedings of the House, we had primary material. I will not name the senior members with whom I spoke this morning, but I invited them to my chamber and sought guidance on how to proceed if such a situation arises.”
Jagdeep Dhankhar said that Rajni Ashokrao Patil is indulging in this unhealthy activity, and what has been observed is a matter to pay attention to.
