Congress Leader Milind Deora Claims The Alliance With BJP Did Not Help Congress In Maharashtra
Mumbai, 22nd August 2022: Congress leader Milind Deora says that an alliance was made to keep the BJP on the sidelines in Maharashtra, but it did not help Congress. This statement is being considered as an indication toward Shiv Sena. Through this, Congress has made it clear that the alliance has not benefited it and it has only become weak in terms of electoral position. He has also said that many people in Congress do not see Shiv Sena as a reliable partner.
Talking to Economic Times, Deora said, “There is a big difference in our ideology as compared to Shiv Sena and that is why a section does not see it as a reliable partner. The alliance was formed with the common objective of keeping the BJP out of power. I and many like me believe that we have not benefited much from the alliance with Congress. Shiv Sena has got the maximum benefit from this.”
He added, “While the Congress has failed to increase its base, Shiv Sena has been continuously reaching out to the core voters of Congress. It has used the alliance as a bridge and has wooed the voters. This alliance is against religion and we have also received complaints from many party leaders.”
Milind’s statements are a big challenge for Uddhav Thackeray, who is facing the rebellion of Eknath Shinde.
