New Delhi, 11th April 2024: K Kavitha, a leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, was arrested by the CBI in Tihar Jail over alleged money laundering in Delhi liquor policy scandal.
Accused of being a key figure in the “South Group,” implicated in ₹100 crore kickback scheme with AAP. Placed in 14-day judicial custody after initial arrest by ED in Hyderabad. CBI grills Kavitha in prison, probing WhatsApp chats and land deals linked to kickbacks.
Kavitha voices concerns about the “media trial” impacting her reputation and privacy in a court letter. Offers full cooperation and willingness to surrender phones amid allegations.
