Bharat Jodo Yatra: Rahul Gandhi Slams Central Government Over Letter To Postpone Journey
Nuh, 22nd December 2022: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is taking out Bharat Jodo Yatra, has attacked the central government. Rahul Gandhi has slammed the Center over the request made by the Health Minister to stop the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Rahul Gandhi has termed it as an excuse of the government.
Rahul Gandhi was in Haryana’s Nuh on Thursday for the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the letter from the Ministry of Health. Rahul Gandhi said, “BJP has written a letter to me to stop the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Excuses are being made to stop the journey. Wear a mask, and stop travelling; Corona is spreading. These are all excuses; they are scared of the reality of India.”
Before Rahul, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also attacked the central government. Jairam said that this letter has been sent only for political reasons. Jairam said cases of Omicron sub-variant BF.7 were found in Gujarat and Odisha in July, September and November, but this letter was written now. “Was any corona protocol followed in the elections?” he questioned.
Significantly, given the Corona cases, the Health Ministry had written a letter to Rahul Gandhi. In the letter, an appeal has been made to Rahul Gandhi to stop the Bharat Jodo Yatra. It was said in the letter that Covid guidelines should be followed during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. If the guidelines are not followed then the journey should be postponed.
Apart from this, an appeal was also made to use masks and sanitisers on the journey. It was said in the letter that only vaccinated people should take part in this journey. The Union Minister has said that individuals should be isolated before and after joining the journey.
