Beed Sarpanch’s Daughter Vaibhavi Triumphs in HSC Exams with 85% Despite Father’s Brutal Murder
Beed, 5th May 2025: Vaibhavi Deshmukh, daughter of the late Massajog village sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, has scored an impressive 85% in the Maharashtra HSC (Class 12) exams, achieving remarkable academic success just months after her father’s shocking murder in December 2024. The tragedy, which sent shockwaves across Maharashtra, left Vaibhavi’s family in deep distress, but she persevered with her studies while also actively participating in protests demanding justice for her father.
Santosh Deshmukh, who had enrolled Vaibhavi in Latur to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor, was abducted and killed in an incident that drew statewide attention and led to a high-profile investigation. Despite the emotional turmoil and ongoing legal battles, Vaibhavi managed to secure 512 out of 600 marks, excelling in science subjects such as Mathematics (94), Chemistry (91), Biology (98), and Physics (83), along with strong scores in English (63) and Marathi (83).
Vaibhavi’s achievement stands as a testament to her determination and resilience in the face of adversity, with local residents and her family expressing both pride in her success and sorrow that her father was not there to witness it. This year, the overall HSC pass percentage for Maharashtra was 91.88%, with girls once again outperforming boys.
