Suspended Congress Leader Sanjay Jha Says, “If Congress Fights Gandhian Battle, BJP Will Become History”
New Delhi, 20th August 2022: Suspended from Congress in the year 2020 for anti-party activities, Sanjay Jha has said that if Congress party fights Gandhian battle, BJP will become history.
He made this tweet in the context of how Congress has raised the issue of release of Bilkis Bano rape convicts among opposition parties. The suspended Congress leader said this is one of the reasons why he is praising the party despite the suspension.
On Friday, Sanjay Jha tweeted, “People ask me why I defend Congress so strongly, vociferously despite suspension? One big reason is Congress raising the Bilkis Bano issue. The opposition has stood up to take on the BJP. If the Congress fights the Gandhian battle, the BJP will become history.”
On Friday, the Congress took to the streets to protest the release of 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano rape case, who were allowed to walk out of the Godhra sub-jail on August 15 as part of the Gujarat government’s exemption policy. Calling for immediate repeal of the exemption policy, the Congress asked whether PM Modi has approved the Gujarat government’s decision.
