Pune: Violation Of Code Of Conduct By BJP In Kasba Peth; Interested Candidate Distributed Materials With BJP Symbol And Photograph
Pune, 30th January 2023: The code of conduct implemented for the Kasba Peth by-election has been violated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It has come forward that the former chairman of the standing committee Hemant Rasane, who is willing to contest the by-elections from the town, distributed materials with his name and photograph as well as the party symbol during a program.
There is a possibility that this program of distribution of materials in the Code of Conduct will be controversial and the opponents are likely to file a complaint against it with the district administration. Interestingly, the materials have been distributed in the presence of Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil.
A by-election has been announced on the seat left vacant due to the death of the Kasba Peth MLA Mukta Tilak. Many people from BJP are interested in the by-election and Hemant Rasane’s name is also in discussion. With the announcement of the election program, the election code of conduct has also been implemented in the constituency and its implementation has started. But even after that, Hemant Rasane has been accused by the opponents of violating the code of conduct by distributing the materials.
Stree Shakti Felicitation program organized by Hemant Rasne Mitra Parivar at NMV Girls High School on Bajirao Road and the Tilgul distribution program on the occasion of Haldi Kunku and Makar Sankranti was organized on Sunday. Guardian Minister, State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, and BJP Women State President Chitra Wagh were present for the program. After the program, bags with Hemant Rasane’s name and photograph were distributed to the women. The lotus symbol of the BJP is also visible on these bags. The opposition has complained that this is a violation of the code of conduct. It was said by the opponents that a complaint will also be registered with the district administration in this regard.
This program has been going on for the past fifteen years. Government officials were discussed before the program. Party flags were removed as per his instructions. This event is private and is held at a private location. The party’s official candidate has not been decided. Hemant Rasane said that there has been no violation of the code of conduct.
