Will Fight For BJP Till My Last Breath: Yediyurappa During Final Speech In Karnataka Assembly

Bengaluru, 24th February 2023: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader B. S. Yediyurappa delivered a farewell speech in the Assembly on Friday. During this, he said he will continue to fight till his last breath to make the BJP win.

Delivering his last speech in the assembly, Yediyurappa said he would not contest the state elections again but would fight till his last breath to take his party forward. Yediyurappa, a four-time chief minister, had already announced his retirement from electoral politics.

He said, “I have reached here because of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The training I received during my RSS days helped me become who I am today. I have decided not to contest any election again.” During this, he reiterated his resolve to travel extensively in the state and bring the BJP to power.

The former CM said he will fight till his last breath to make his party prosperous. “I will make sincere efforts to bring BJP to power. I am leaving this respected House (Assembly) with the belief that I will work for the party,” he said.

Yediyurappa said he would never forget the people of Shikaripura, as whatever he has achieved in life, the entire credit goes to the people of Shikaripura. He said, “I will turn 80 on 27th February. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend my birthday celebrations. The airport in Shimoga will be inaugurated on the occasion of my birthday.”

Yediyurappa praised former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda, and said, “He is our ideal. A lot can be learned from him.” He also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, saying he was adept at praising fellow legislators.
