PM Modi Lauds Mudra Yojana’s Success Stories On 10th Anniversary

New Delhi, 8th April: On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Mudra Yojana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a special interaction with beneficiaries of the scheme. Reflecting on its transformative impact, he shared that he had invited Mudra beneficiaries from across the country to his residence. During the meeting, recipients of the scheme shared their inspiring stories, detailing the positive changes and opportunities Mudra Yojana has brought into their lives. The Prime Minister emphasized how the initiative has empowered small entrepreneurs and contributed to the economic growth of countless individuals, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

“Today, as we celebrate a decade of Mudra Yojana, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all those whose lives have been changed by this initiative,” the Prime Minister remarked. He highlighted how the scheme has made once-distant dreams a reality for countless individuals, particularly those who were previously denied access to financial assistance. In these 10 years, Mudra Yojana has empowered those who were once left behind. It has proven that nothing is impossible for the people of India,” Modi said. With 33 lakh crore disbursed without any guarantees, the initiative has had a profound impact, especially with women emerging as the largest group of beneficiaries, taking charge of their entrepreneurial aspirations.

One individual shared how, after receiving a Mudra loan, they started a food-related business, which has significantly improved their livelihood. When asked by the PM about their current income, the beneficiary hesitated, prompting Modi to joke, “Don’t worry, the Finance Minister is sitting here with me; I’ll tell him not to send the income tax officials.”

Another beneficiary proudly spoke about how they had used the loan to set up a business, which enabled them to purchase a house. They revealed that their annual turnover had skyrocketed from 12 lakhs to 50 lakhs, expressing deep gratitude to PM Modi for the opportunity. Yet another beneficiary shared a personal success story, stating that before Mudra Yojana, they earned 20,000 rupees a month, but now their income has more than doubled. These stories reflect the profound impact of the scheme, turning aspirations into tangible achievements for many across the country.

One particularly moving story came from a beneficiary who shared how Mudra Yojana lifted her from extreme poverty. For the first time in her life, she travelled to Delhi and boarded a flight, a symbol of the new opportunities that had opened up for her. She explained how the loan helped her start her business, and today, she is earning 60,000 rupees a month. Prime Minister Modi, visibly impressed, praised her resilience and congratulated her for turning her life around with the help of the scheme. Her journey from hardship to financial independence served as a powerful testament to the transformative power of Mudra Yojana.

With 10 years of progress behind it, the scheme continues to empower millions of individuals, particularly women and marginalized communities, enabling them to dream bigger and achieve more. As the nation celebrates this milestone, the stories of transformation underscore the government’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and entrepreneurship.
