Maharashtra State Government Suspends Tribal Development Department Recruitment Process

Pune, 27th June 2024: The Maharashtra State Government today suspended the recruitment process initiated last year to fill 602 vacant posts in Group ‘C’ of the Tribal Development Department of the Government of Maharashtra. It has been clarified by the government that the previously published advertisement for this recruitment has been cancelled, and a new, revised advertisement will be issued.

The original advertisement was released on 23rd November 2023, to fill various vacancies in the Tribal Development Department. However, the Maharashtra State Government cancelled the advertisement today, citing the exclusion of socially and educationally backward classes.

The revised advertisement for the same recruitment will be republished to include these classes. The Tribal Development Department of Maharashtra State has confirmed the cancellation and announced that a revised advertisement will be published. As a result, an order issued by Nayana Gunde, Commissioner of the Tribal Development Department, stated that the job recruitment is being suspended.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State Government has ordered the republishing of the advertisement to include the socially and educationally backward classes and update the point list. Gunde clarified that, according to this government order, the process of updating the point list has already commenced by the regional office of the Tribal Development Department.
