Maharashtra Governor Koshyari Requests PM Modi To Release Him From Political Duty
Mumbai, 24th January 2023: Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release him from political responsibility. Koshyari himself gave this information through a press release. Koshyari had expressed his desire to quit the post of the governor earlier. But this time, he has directly requested the Prime Minister. Koshyari said in a statement issued that he spoke about this during the Prime Minister’s visit to Mumbai last week. Manogat Koshyari has expressed that he has always enjoyed the special affection of Prime Minister Modi and I hope that I will continue to receive his blessings.
During the two-and-a-half years of the Mahavikas Aghadi government, Koshyari brought down the then-rulers. He always took a stand against the then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s appointment to the Legislative Council. The Governor vs Chief Minister controversy raged forever. Koshyari did not leave any chance to trouble the Mahavikas Aghadi government. The dispute went to such an extreme that the Governor had to wait for about half an hour and get down from the government plane as the chief minister’s office did not give permission. Since the change of power, Koshyari has been quiet. But in the meantime, he got into trouble due to controversial statements about many great men, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Mahatma Jotiba Phule.
Unless the 12 MLAs appointed by the Governor come to the Legislative Council, the BJP and the Shinde group can’t get the Speaker’s post. Koshyari avoided the appointment of 12 persons recommended by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. If Koshyari had made the appointment after the change of power, it would have sent a different message. That is why, 12 people will be appointed through the new governor to replace Koshyari, the BJP faction said.
There are signs that Koshyari has outlived his usefulness for the BJP and that is why he will soon be removed from the post of governor. Publicizing his desire to resign is said to be part of this strategy. Sources have informed that another governor may be appointed in place of Koshyari at any moment after Republic Day.
