Kannauj. 24th April 2024: Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav’s claim to contest elections from Kannauj has been confirmed once again. Senior SP leader Ram Govind Chaudhary has indicated that Akhilesh Yadav will contest the election from the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat.

SP has officially announced Tej Pratap Singh Yadav as the candidate for the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat. Meanwhile, in Etawah, Ram Gopal Yadav confirmed the nomination of Tej Pratap Singh Yadav. The speculations around Kannauj are fluctuating. Just the other day, the party stated that Tej Pratap Singh Yadav would contest from Kannauj. However, on Wednesday, SP leader Ram Govind Chaudhary, who was present as the leader of the opposition in the Assembly, hinted at Akhilesh Yadav contesting from the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat at the SP office on Tirwa Road. When asked if SP President Akhilesh Yadav would contest the Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj and file his nomination on April 25, he responded by saying, “What you are thinking is correct. We have come. The workers are enthusiastic and that’s what they want. Preparation for filing the nomination at 12 noon on Thursday is underway.” Following this, the workers also chanted slogans in support of Akhilesh.
