BJP State President Criticizes Uddhav Thackeray, Attributes Ram Temple Construction to Modi Government

Pune, 6th February 2024: The construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya has been a significant milestone in Indian politics and religious sentiment. Recently, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Chandrasekhar Bawankule stirred controversy by attributing the realization of the temple to the Narendra Modi-led government, while also criticizing Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s stance on Hinduism.

Bawankule highlighted the historical context, pointing out the shift in approach towards the Ram Janmabhoomi case between the Congress-led government and the Modi administration. He claimed that while the Congress government had allegedly dismissed the existence of Lord Ram as fictitious, the Modi government presented evidence supporting the case for the temple, ultimately obtaining permission for its construction.

Speaking to media representatives during the departure of the second Astha train carrying Ram devotees from Maharashtra to Ayodhya, Bawankule emphasized the significance of the Modi government’s role in the temple’s construction. He expressed gratitude on behalf of Hindus worldwide towards Prime Minister Modi for this achievement.

However, Bawankule did not shy away from criticizing Uddhav Thackeray, accusing him of atheism for not attending the invitation extended by Shri Ram’s Devotees. He alleged that Thackeray’s absence indicated insincerity in his professed love for Hindutva.

Further, Bawankule accused Thackeray of engaging in vote bank politics, citing his decision not to visit Ayodhya solely for political gains. He also raised concerns about Thackeray’s political alliances, particularly with Udhayanidhi Stalin, who allegedly made derogatory remarks about Hindu icon Veer Savarkar and threatened to undermine Hindu Sanatan Dharma.
