Empowering Maharashtra: PM Modi Unveils NaMo Campaign for Women’s Development
Mumbai, 12th January 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the NaMo women empowerment campaign on Friday in a significant move to uplift women in Maharashtra. The campaign’s primary objective is to provide skill development training and entrepreneurship development experiences to empower women in the state.
During the launch, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the NaMo campaign aims to contribute to the progress and satisfaction of women development programs initiated by both the state and central governments. He stated, “Today is a historic day for Mumbai and Maharashtra, as well as for the determination of a developed India.”
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the Atal Setu, one of the largest bridges globally, which was inaugurated on the same day. He expressed, “Atal Setu is bringing new confidence to the young people. The path to their better future passes through modern infrastructure like Atal Setu.”
Modi added that Atal Setu represents the vision of a developed India, where convenience and speed are accessible to everyone, leading to progress and reduced distances.
Reflecting on the past, Prime Minister Modi noted the shift from discussions about mega scams worth thousands and lakhs of crores to conversations about the successful completion of mega projects worth significant amounts.
Highlighting various initiatives, Modi emphasized the government’s focus on women’s welfare, including the Ujjwala scheme, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat, Jan Dhan accounts, permanent houses for PM residence, house registries in the name of women, financial support to pregnant women, and extended maternity leave with salary for working women.
He stated, “Our government has taken special care of women, and the intention is clear. Today, the government’s loyalty is only towards the country and its countrymen.”
Modi concluded by affirming that the government’s intentions align with the welfare of the nation, reflecting in loyal policies dedicated to the betterment of the people.
