Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections: BJP Begins New Preparations Pre-Elections

Himachal Pradesh, 11th November 2022: The noise of campaigning for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections has ended. Voting for the 68 assembly seats is to be held on November 12, and the coronation on November 18. In this election, BJP has made up its mind to write a new script. It is clear from the BJP’s move that it is trying to end the ‘custom’ that has been going on in the state since 1985. On the other hand, the Congress party believes that this mission of the BJP will fail and the custom will continue unabated.

Everyone’s curiosity about the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 rests on changing that custom. This time, Rahul Gandhi is busy with the Bharat Jodo Yatra, while the command of Congress is in the hands of his sister Priyanka Gandhi. Priyanka has also held three to four rallies here. Although Priyanka’s road show was proposed in Shimla on the last day of campaigning, she could not reach it due to bad weather.

In fact, since 1985, no party has repeated the government in Himachal. The Janata Janardhan is BJP or Congress does not allow anyone to repeat in power. Congress came to power in 1985 with 52 seats. In 1990, BJP formed the government by winning 46 seats. Similarly, Congress in 1993, BJP in 1998, Congress in 2003, and Prem Kumar Dhumal in 2007 brought the BJP back. Similarly, in 2012, Congress won the election, and then in 2017 BJP won the election on the face of Dhumal, but Jairam Thakur was made CM.

This time, though BJP has resorted to Modi magic to break the 37-year-old record in the assembly elections, there is one more thing that can bring the BJP back to power in Himachal. This time the BJP has tried to give a big political message by cutting the tickets of veterans. The BJP has given a chance to new faces by cutting the tickets of 11 sitting MLAs, including a minister. The BJP, however, argues that tickets have been allotted based on the work of the leaders on the ground.

The BJP has already made it clear that if there is no guarantee of winning the election, it will not be given a ticket. BJP President JP Nadda has also made it clear that the ticket has been allotted after taking the feedback of the public in the area. The BJP wants to repeat the government in Himachal under any circumstances.

Talking about the 2017 assembly elections, the veterans of both the BJP and Congress had to face a crushing defeat in the elections. Congress veteran cabinet ministers had to face defeat in the last election. Kaul Singh Thakur, GS Bali, Sudhir Singh Bali, and Thakar Singh Barmauri are included. At the same time, Prem Kumar Dhumal from BJP, on whose face BJP contested the election, lost his seat. Apart from this, Himachal Pradesh BJP President Satpal Satti also could not save his seat.

The parties know that if the public does not like the work, no other efforts will suffice. This is why, this time, the BJP has allocated tickets very carefully.
