PM Modi Criticizes Rahul Gandhi as ‘Balak Buddhi’ in Fiery Lok Sabha Speech
New Delhi, 2nd July 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong rebuke to Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, describing him as having a ‘childish intellect’ (Balak Buddhi). Modi reacted to Gandhi’s previous day’s speech, accusing him of staging a drama for sympathy.
“The childish mind has been crying… this person hit me, that person hit me, I was hit here, I was hit there… this act is being performed to garner sympathy,” PM Modi remarked.
“A person with a childish intellect doesn’t understand what to say or how to act… he (Rahul Gandhi) sometimes winks inside the Lok Sabha… the country is now well aware of his nature. The entire nation is now saying — tumse na ho paaega (you won’t be able to succeed),” PM Modi added. Rahul Gandhi had criticized the government on several issues on Monday, including the ongoing NEET dispute, and questioned the party’s adherence to Hinduism. However, many parts of his speech were struck from the record by Speaker Om Birla.
PM Modi also highlighted that Rahul Gandhi is out on bail in a corruption case.
“…A new act has been initiated to gain sympathy but the country knows the reality that he (Rahul Gandhi) is out on bail for allegedly embezzling thousands of crores. He has been convicted in a case for calling OBC people thieves. He had to apologize after making an irresponsible statement in the Supreme Court,” Modi said.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s display of a poster depicting Lord Shiva in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi said religious images should not be exploited for political gain.
“We cannot protect parliamentary democracy if we do not take what happened yesterday seriously. These actions should not be dismissed as childish; we should not ignore them at all because the intentions behind them are not good. I also want to awaken the nation,” he added.
Modi stated that the Lok Sabha witnessed Rahul Gandhi’s immature behaviour on Monday.
The Prime Minister labelled the Congress party as a “parasite”, saying it performed poorly in states where it contested without its INDIA bloc allies.
He criticized the Congress for celebrating what he termed a fake victory.
“I recall an incident where a boy scored 99 marks and proudly showed it to everyone. When people heard 99, they praised him a lot. Then a teacher came and said why are you celebrating? He did not score 99 out of 100 but 99 out of 543. Now, who will explain to that child that he has set a world record in failure,” PM Modi said.
